It is difficult to cook for your family at home–day after day all year long. There is only a certain number of dishes which (usually busy) mums or dads can come up with when preparing dinners for your family. Depends on the country, cuisine, staple foods and financial status, the cooking challenge usually comes down to one thing: being creative. Being creative would mean to think about different, appetising, affordable, healthy, and quick dishes which will not only feed the members of your household but also gather people together, lift their spirits, enable the stories to be shared. These days, with worldwide access to the Internet, finding the right recipe and new ideas seems to be easier than in the past yet it still takes some imagination to see what you have and what you make with what you have got.

Creativity in our life is a gift. Gift received from God and given to us freely as a package which is wrapped in many layers of a wrapping paper. Some people are faster than others in unwrapping it. Some never open their gift and just look at the beauty of the package itself or put it aside without being interested what is inside. Being creative is being curious what you have instead of concentrating on what you don’t. It is about brainstorming what you can instead of what you can’t do. Being creative is not about superpowers, but it is about using what you’ve got powerfully.

This week, whether it is cooking, working or anything else, think about what you can do, unwrap some gifts you have and… see where it will lead you.
