Almost a fortnight ago we celebrated Holy Thursday. That day of the Holy Week, we remember God’s love showed to us through Jesus’ example of service. He washed the feet of His disciples. He shared with them a glimpse of his upcoming suffering. He asked them to follow him in his tribulation. Finally, He named who will betray him and… all of this during the MEAL. It was truly the LAST SUPPER, the last time when Jesus reiterated his testament of the NEW COVENANT: Love one another as I have loved you. I imagine that special meal every year when we celebrate the Holy Thursday. I also imagine many meals which Jesus had in his life. And sometimes I think: what was his favourite dish? This year my community and I were very fortunate to taste the meal inspired by the Jewish tradition prepared by our friend, Ineke. We enjoyed what was served, learnt how it was made, and, most of all, we felt Jesus’ presence among us. It was a very special SUPPER and hopefully not the last on which we explore and learn more about the life of Jesus.

Don't forget to visit recipes page for the Matzo Balls.
