It’s Lent. In the Catholic tradition time when we focus on the Passion of Christ and prepare for His resurrection. Fast, penance and almsgiving are encouraged. As much as it is a good thing, sometimes people focus so much on “doing these and doing them right” that the miss the main point – becoming closer to God, giving back to the community, remembering that our life depends on Him and that only in God we can do anything. This helps us to be able to deal with life challenges, especially when things seem to be overwhelming and hard to resolve. God is good for us and never wants us to suffer. Even in the darkest moments of our life, He is there with consolation and/ or just sits there to cry when we cry. God is always good. He says: As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you. (Is 66:13)

Perhaps this weekend you and I could be sign of His kindness to others. It can be as simple as making a nice dessert like this.
