I don’t know about you, but for me there are certain experiences in life which cannot be recalled without using senses. My memories of home which I loved and will always strive to recreate  wherever I am, are the smells and flavours of food which was an integral part of what defined the family atmosphere when I was growing up. The smell of baked cake or coffee would connect in my mind with simplicity of happiness which does not require much money or efforts to make others happy. A yesterday’s/stale bread can be turned into a great French toast, or … even better, a bread and butter pudding. Enjoying the simple treat like this brings people together. And where people are together – this is the place where God is. For these memories and times when I can recreate them – I am grateful.
