About the Recipe

This is a recipe based on my Mum's cooking. Simple and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

  • Half a kilo of pork mince meat

  • Onion

  • Garlic powder

  • Vegeta

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Paprika

  • Vegeta

  • 1 egg

  • Bay leaves (2-3)

  • Breadcrumbs

Preparation

Step 1

Chop the onion very finely.

Add the onion to the mince pork, season with salt, pepper (you can add a bit

of nutmeg), add one whole egg and a handful of breadcrumbs.

Mix it well with hands - so meat is not curly anymore.

Step 2

Make balls (size it up to you - not too big, not too small. I made 12 out of a

half of a kilo). Roll the balls in plain flour.

Step 3

In the pot boil the water with a bit of vegeta and bay leaves. Put created meatballs into boiling water and reduce the heat. Boil for approximately 20 - 30 minutes.

Step 4

For a nice and smooth sauce:

Take the cooked balls out of the pot. Strain the sauce, thicken it with a bit of

potato flour and thicken cream and a teaspoon of lemon juice (adding one

egg yolk is optional - be careful to make sure the egg will not curdle).

Return meatballs to the sauce and serve with potatoes and veggies.

For an extra "surprise" you can stuff the meatballs with pieces of cheese

(I used brie).
